Sanctuary Dogs

Hi there, I am Daisy Mae. I am the sweetest, most well-behaved pup at the sanctuary, but I also have a lot of energy and sometimes my parents call me “Crazy Daisy.” I am a Rottie mix that was saved from a drug house in Chautauqua County. Now, I am the princess of AAO and I get spoiled rotten. I love belly rubs and car rides. And I will do anything for a treat. If you meet me, be prepared to get smothered in kisses!

Hola, my name is Quica. I only like about two people at the AAO sanctuary, but those two people are my everything. I am the most loyal dog you will ever meet for those that I love. I may come across to everyone else as tough and gruff, but deep down I have a loving soul and I just want to be loved in return. My favorite things to do at AAO are running in the fields, cuddling up in bed with my humans, and helping my mom cook in the kitchen. I especially love when she makes broccoli. Broccoli is my favorite snack!

Hi! I am Zach. I am a 5-year-old deaf Great Dane with a BIG personality and an even bigger love for life! Being deaf doesn't slow me down one bit. I love running off-leash in the yard, playing soccer, and just having a good time. I may not hear you cheering me on, but I promise I can feel your love and I know you are there! 

I'm Grizz, aka Grizzly Bear! I am a smart, goofy German Shepherd mix who has come a LONG way since arriving at AAO as a sick, scrappy stray. I've graduated obedience classes and have become quite the well-trained gentleman! I love learning, playing, getting affection, and keeping my brain busy. Give me some structure, adventure, and love, and I'll give you one incredibly loyal best friend in return.

I am Leo! I am a 90-pound Irish Wolfhound mix who is convinced I'm still a tiny puppy. I'm always cheerful, happy, and eager to make my people proud. I absolutely LOVE to cuddle, and when I get excited and start running, my sanctuary mama says I look like a baby giraffe because I'm a little wobbly on my long legs. I may be a big boy, but at heart I'm just a goofy, cuddly puppy who loves life and his people.

I'm Bruce Wayne... a happy-go-lucky guy who's ready to be the Batman to your Robin! I am possibly a lab/cattle dog mix, but my true identity remains a mystery. What we do know is that I am 100% good boy and ALWAYS smiling! I love long walks, playing with my toys, running through the snow, going for rides in the Batmobile, and snuggling on the couch after a long day of saving Gotham. I get along with other dogs, cats, and respectful kids. I love making friends to join me on my next adventure!

Hi, I’m Fred! I am a Boxer/Pit mix, and I'll be the first to admit... I'm VERY particular about my people. I keep my circle extremely small... like, TWO people small. But if you're lucky enough to make it into the Fred's Inner Circle, you get the very best version of me. I'm loyal, loving, and the absolute best boy to the people I trust. I don't need to love everybody. I am happy with my two dads. Life is good at AAO.

I'm Cannoli, a Retriever/Great Pyrenees mix who has already been through a lot in my short life. I was abandoned outside an emergency vet and then spent three long months at animal control before AAO stepped in and gave me a chance. Kennel life was really hard for me, but with some patience, structure, and help from an amazing trainer, I've been making incredible progress! I'm a sweet boy with so much potential. I just need someone willing to keep showing me that the world can be a safe and happy place.

I'm Tank! I am a Lab/Rottweiler mix and a total staff favorite at AAO! Don't let my name fool you... I may be a big, strong guy, but I'm really just a goofy cuddle bug who loves being close to my people. I'm happiest when playing with squeaky toys, chewing on bones, going for car rides and long walks, or getting absolutely soaked playing with the garden hose. I'm house-trained, a perfect gentleman at home, and always ready to be your co-pilot, adventure buddy, and couch-snuggling best friend.

Hello, I'm Brutus, and my story is proof of why AAO believes every dog matters. I came from a life of unimaginable abuse and neglect. I was malnourished, sick, scared, and carrying so much trauma that I didn't know who I could trust. But AAO refused to give up on me, even when healing took months and years. Today, I am a happy boy living safely at the sanctuary, surrounded by people who fought for me when I needed them most. I am living proof that sometimes the dogs who are the hardest to save are the ones most worth fighting for.

I'm Fredo.... and I am a professional couch potato! I love curling up on the couch with my favorite people for some serious snuggle time. My life wasn't always this comfortable. I was abandoned, left tied up in a backyard, and later found myself on a euthanasia list before AAO stepped in to save me. My scars may tell part of my story, but they don't define me. Today I'm living the good life at the sanctuary, surrounded by people who love me

Hi there! I am Darla, a Pit Bull/Thai Ridgeback mix with a whole lot of personality! I was found abandoned in a ditch, scared and confused, and at first I wasn't sure who I could trust. But once I was given some time, patience, and love, my true personality came bursting out! I am sassy, silly, VERY talkative, obsessed with squeaky toys and treats, and I even love hanging out with cats! I've come a long way from the frightened girl I once was, and now I'm ready to leave my past behind and enjoy the happy life I deserve.
