Bandit

Adult, Male, Large

Hiya, I’m Bandit! I’m a Pit Bull Terrier & Pointer mix who loves to be around people! I am actually the friendliest people dog at the AAO sanctuary. My ideal day includes long walks, play time with lots of toys, ending with lots of snuggles! I am such a people pleaser and will do just about anything for a little treat. Though I’m great with people I need to be an only pet!! I’m searching for my cuddle buddy and I hope it’s you! Check me out on the adopt section!

Scotch

Adult, Male, Large

Meet Scotch!!
... aka Butterscotch (because he's so sweet)
... aka Scotch Tape (because he sticks so close to you)

This sweet lab mix, approximately 9 years old, deserves a loving home after facing euthanasia at Lollypop Farms. Surrendered due to changes in his family life, Scotch lived with his family for eight wonderful years. Unfortunately, as their lives changed with a growing toddler and a move, his family started neglecting him and was ultimately surrendered.

Now, Scotch is looking for a fresh start! He is good with kids and can be good with other dogs with a slow introduction. However, he does have too much energy for cats. Scotch loves to play, is friendly with everyone, and thrives on attention and snuggling!

He is fixed, up-to-date on shots, and ready to join a new family. Plus, if adopted, Scotch will come with training through Against All Odds to help him settle into his new home. If you're ready to give Scotch the second chance he deserves, please reach out! Let's help this lovable pup find his forever home! ???

Rocco

Young, Male, Medium

MEET ROCCO: PART DOG, PART BAT, 100% HANDSOME
Okay, okay... he's technically a 1-year-old Terrier mix, but have you SEEN those ears?! Rocco is a neutered good boy with enough ear to pick up radio stations three towns over.

Rocco has completed a board-and-train program and is ready to find a family who will keep up with his training, give him structure, and continue showing him how to be the very best boy he can be.

His hobbies include:
Playing an intense game of tug
Lounging around like he pays the bills
Hearing absolutely everything with those satellite dishes
Being very interested in the mysterious creatures humans call cats

Rocco would do best with older kids and can live with a mellow, compatible dog who isn't constantly in his business. He is crate trained and already has a great training foundation—he just needs someone committed to keeping it going.

Rocco

Young, Male, Medium

Meet Lindy Ruff, known to his teammates and close fans simply as Ruff . He's a young pup with a steady presence, a warm heart beneath the fur, and a knack for being in just the right spot when it matters most .

At home, Ruff plays a strong two-way game. He's affectionate without being clingy, happy to check in for love and then drift back to his favorite spot nearby. He bonds well with his people and thrives when he knows he's part of the lineup .

Around other dogs, he really finds his stride this is a pup who wants a linemate. He loves sleeping shoulder to shoulder, following his canine pals from room to room, and heading outside with a trusted potty pal. A home with another dog would be a highlight reel fit for him .

Cats, however, may take a little more patience and structure. He's still figuring that matchup out. And he hasn't yet had much ice-time with young kids, so slow introductions and thoughtful coaching would be key.

When strangers come into the picture , Ruff reads the play. He may not rush the boards right away but give him a moment and hell size things up, curious and calm. He's got a natural sense of what's his and who belongs there alert, observant, and quietly protective without being noisy about it. If something seems off, hell notice. If all is well, hell settle back in and let the game flow.

Ruffs play style is measured. He enjoys playtime , but he's not trying to go end to end all day long. Short shifts suit him just fine. Too much fast action can wind him up but slow the pace down and he settles just as smooth as ice after the Zamboni. He's adaptable enough to handle change, but he appreciates having a routine and sticking to the game plan.

Training is still a work in progress. Ruff isn't the pup who lives to please the ref, but hell learn with consistency, patience, and positive reinforcement . House training is coming along nicely, improving day by day. Crate training is also underway there may be a little grumble from the bench when its time to go in, but he settles and handles it just fine. He's not much of a talker overall, saving his voice for when it really counts (heckling the other players outside)

One thing to note: Ruff can be a bit protective of his toys, guarding the puck, so to speak. But with guidance and redirection, he gives them up and keeps the play clean.

All told, Ruff is a young pup still learning the game but with a calm demeanor, a loyal heart , and a love of teammates that makes him special.

Just one meeting and you'll be saying this guys good, scary good! We need him on our team !!

Ethel

Young, Female, Medium

Ethel is about 2 years old and weighs around 50lbs! She is a typical Husky with a desire to explore, so nice long walks are one of her favorite things! If you like to go on adventures, hike or run this girl is definitely the one for you!! The cold temps don’t bother her one bit and she loves to romp in the snow so Buffalo winters are her jam.

When she isn’t out wandering about with her human she loves exercising her mind! Puzzles or snuffle activities for her meals are always a hit! She enjoys working on obedience and would love someone that will teach her new tricks as well! A good game of tug is always a hit and this girl is always happy to play toys on her own or chew her bone.

Ethel would do best with someone that is able to be firm about rules but also gentle. Balance! This girl will absolutely thrive with structure and appropriate boundaries. Her ideal home is one without young kids or other pets, but with a dog this great who needs another one!

Dumpling

Adult, Female, Medium

Meet Dumpling 🥟

Dumpling is a 40-pound low-riding chunk of love looking for her perfect forever home.

Dumpling is housebroken, crate trained, and has a mild little snore that honestly just adds to her charm. She does well with cats and would thrive either as an only dog or in a home with just one other compatible dog. Because she can become overstimulated in chaotic environments, she would do best in a calmer home with older children.

Dumpling did previously nip someone during an overstimulating situation involving a lot of barking dogs and screaming children. No blood was drawn, and since being in a more structured environment, she has done very well.

Dumpling is looking for a family that will see past her past and give her the stability, understanding, and love she deserves.

Leo

Adult, Male, Large

Meet Leo 🐾 Leo is a 3-year-old, 95-pound Irish Wolfhound mix looking for a calm, experienced foster or adopted home after he completed a professional board-and-train program.

Leo is affectionate, sensitive, and loves being close to his people. He enjoys playtime but settles nicely in a calm environment and will happily follow his humans from room to room.

Leo would do best in an adult-only or very controlled home with minimal visitors and an adopter committed to continuing his training plan. He can live with other dogs but must be separated during feeding and other high-value situations. He also likes to chase cats and sees it as a game, so supervision is required.

Leo needs a low-stimulation environment where he can feel safe and structured. Leo is looking for a patient, experienced home committed to helping him continue to grow and succeed.

Sullivan

Adult, Male, Medium

Meet Sullivan!

Sullivan is a handsome 5-year-old Pit Bull with a big heart and an even bigger love for his people. Adopted from Rochester Animal Services (Verona Street Animal Society) when he was 2 years old, Sullivan has been a cherished family companion ever since. He is housebroken, crate trained, neutered, and has completed both basic and advanced obedience training. Sullivan has done well living with the dog in his home and generally enjoys other dogs, although he can become excited when seeing unfamiliar dogs while on leash.

If you're looking for a dog who loves to be part of the family, Sullivan fits the bill. He's incredibly affectionate, enjoys playing fetch and tug, loves to cuddle, and is always happy chewing on his favorite Benebone or stuffed toy. His previous owner describes him as deeply connected to his people and eager to make them happy. He has been wonderful with young children in his previous home and is described as gentle, loving, and eager to please.

Sienna

Adult, Female, Medium

Meet Sienna!

Sienna is a beautiful 5-year-old American Bully with a heart full of love for her people. She was adopted from Lollypop Farm when she was about 2 years old and has been a cherished family companion ever since. She is housebroken, crate trained, spayed, and has completed both basic and advanced obedience training.

Sienna is incredibly affectionate and forms strong bonds with the people in her life. Whether she's playing fetch, enjoying a game of tug, snuggling on the couch, or soaking up belly rubs and scratches, she's happiest when she's spending time with her family. She also loves chewing on Benebones and shredding stuffed toys.

Sienna has done well living with the dog she currently knows, but she has not done well with unfamiliar dogs, especially small dogs, and she is not a candidate for a home with cats due to her strong prey drive. She has been wonderful with young children in her previous home, but as with any adoption, we always recommend proper supervision and introductions.
