Bruce Wayne

Adult, Male, Large

Hello, I’m Bruce Wayne (aka Batman)! I got my name because the people that rescued me don’t know what type of dog I am and they say I look like a bat with my big ears. I’m 6 years old but I’m a puppy at heart! I love playing with my toys and long walks, but really any adventure will do! I’m great with select dogs, older kids, and teenagers, but I’m not a fan of cats. If you’re looking for your superhero sidekick, that’s me! Will you be my Robin? Check me out in the adopt section.

Kanan

Young, Male, Medium

Kanan’s story begins with heartbreak. He was the beloved companion of Amanda Thompson, a loving mother of four who was tragically murdered in a senseless act of domestic violence. Her loss shook the Buffalo community—and left Kanan grieving and alone.

Thankfully, Kanan is now safe with us at Against All Oddz Animal Alliance. He has been decompressing in the quiet of our sanctuary, surrounded by people who see him for who he truly is: a sensitive, soulful, and deeply loving boy who just needs a little time to trust.

Despite the trauma he has experienced, Kanan has shown nothing but gentleness and grace. He’s timid with new people, especially men, but warms up quickly with kindness and patience. He’s lived peacefully with dogs, cats, and children, and we believe he will thrive in a calm, compassionate home that understands he may need a little time to adjust.

Once he feels safe, Kanan’s sweet and playful personality begins to shine. He loves affection, playtime, and simply being near his people.

Whether you're interested in fostering or adopting, Kanan offers something incredibly rare: a chance to be part of a redemptive, healing journey—not just for him, but for the memory of the family who loved him so dearly.

Let’s honor Amanda’s legacy by giving Kanan the peaceful, joy-filled life she would’ve wanted for him.

Tank

Adult, Male, Large

Don’t let Tank’s age fool you—he’s still playful, active, and in excellent health! He loves his squeaky toys, chew bones, car rides, getting splashed with the garden hose, and long walks, but at the end of the day, his favorite thing is to snuggle up close with his people.

Tank is also a staff favorite at our sanctuary. Everyone who meets him falls in love with his big heart and goofy, lovable personality. At home, he’s the perfect gentleman—house trained, respectful of furniture and blankets, and never one to get into the garbage.

If you’re looking for a loyal companion to join you on road trips, hikes, or lazy afternoons on the couch, Tank is your guy. He’s ready to be your co-pilot, adventure buddy, and cuddly best friend all in one.

Miss Wiggles

Young, Female, Medium

Meet Miss Wiggles! Like her name suggests, this cutie pie is the perfect dog for an active and patient human companion. Miss Wiggles is extremely loving and a whole lot of fun. She loves daily walks, cuddling, playing and lounging outside. Her favorite summertime activity is splashing around in her kiddie pool. Miss Wiggles is kennel trained and is learning to walk well on a leash without getting nervous and barking at other dogs. She completed a multi-week board & train program with our best trainer from BFK9 Training to fine-tune her manners…. And get her excessive wiggling under control. She is still learning to be a very well-behaved young lady, and she will need someone who can practice with her and reinforce what she learned.

Miss Wiggles does live with another dog in her foster home, but it took many weeks of slow introductions and crate/rotate to get her to a comfortable spot. Because of this, we suggest that Miss Wiggles be the only dog in the home. However, we do believe that Miss Wiggles will do well in a home with cats. She does not go after them and seems more interested in paying attention to humans rather than cats. Miss Wiggles has been around kids 5-19 years old and does wonderfully; however, due to being an energetic dog she should only be around children who can help reenforce her good manners.

Miss Wiggles would do best in a stress-free home with a predictable schedule. She has had a rough start to life growing up on the streets of Texas and bouncing around from shelter to shelter. Wiggles weighs around 45 pounds and is between 3-4 years old. She does not have any allergies or health issues, she is spayed, and up to date on shots.

Miss Wiggles will make the perfect addition to a very lucky family.

Tommy

Adult, Male, Large

Tommy is a calm, patient, easy-going 5 year old male Staffordshire Terrier Mix. Tommy has a tragic backstory, previously abandoned by his orginal owner, he then became one of the longest residents at an animal shelter in Rochester. With time running out, and desparate pleas for help, someone came forward to adopt Tommy. However, this miriacle was sadly short lived. Within just a few hours of his adoption, Tommy was posted by his new adopter as needing a home due to not having enough time for him. AAO stepped in, not wanting this sweet boy to be failed for a third time, and secured him a safe and loving home for him to decompress in. He is currently being fostered in Buffalo, NY as an only pup; the king of his temporary castle! He shares his new home with two older children and is loving life.

Tommy is incredibly affectionate and loves nothing more than snuggling up with his favourite humans. Tommy is the ultimate companion: playful, protective, and charming. He's very gentle and loves going on walks, exploring new places, and getting belly rubs while he is rolling around. Tommy loves his people but would prefer to be the only dog in the home. He knows basic commands, walks well on a leash and does not need to be crated when he is home alone as he just patiently waits for his people to return. He is loyal, affectionate, and eager to please...not to mention super hunky and healthy! Despite Tommy's heartbreaking past, he has always maintained his laid back, happy go lucky spirit, and calm, loving demeanor. If you're looking for a furry friend who will stick by your side, Tommy is the one for you!

Scotch

Adult, Male, Large

Meet Scotch!!

... aka Butterscotch (because he's so sweet)
... aka Scotch Tape (because he sticks so close to you)

This sweet lab mix, approximately 9 years old, deserves a loving home after facing euthanasia at Lollypop Farms. Surrendered due to changes in his family life, Scotch lived with his family for eight wonderful years. Unfortunately, as their lives changed with a growing toddler and a move, his family started neglecting him and was ultimately surrendered.

Now, Scotch is looking for a fresh start! He is good with kids and can be good with other dogs with a slow introduction. However, he does have too much energy for cats. Scotch loves to play, is friendly with everyone, and thrives on attention and snuggling!

He is fixed, up-to-date on shots, and ready to join a new family. Plus, if adopted, Scotch will come with training through Against All Odds to help him settle into his new home.

If you're ready to give Scotch the second chance he deserves, please reach out! Let's help this lovable pup find his forever home! ???
